The song ‘Open Up The Gates’ was inspired by Genesis 28 & Revelation 8.

In Genesis 28, Jacob rests on a stone and has a dream of angels ascending and descending on a ladder set up on earth.

When Jacob wakes up, he realizes that he has been in the presence of God. He declares, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven” ( Gen 28:17 NIV)

The story of Jacob's dream is significant because it shows how God can reveal himself to us in unexpected ways - even through something as simple as a stone pillow. As we read this story, we can trust that God is with us always, even when we don't realize it, and that he will never leave us or forsake us.

As you worship, we pray that you will encounter His presence today and be changed by His Love.

Written during the Covid-19 global pandemic, “King Forever” reflected our hope and faith in God’s goodness, despite the darkness surrounding us.

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. (Deuteronomy 31:8, NIV)

We pray that you will hold onto God’s love, grace & mercy knowing he never leaves or forsakes his children.

As a young girl, I grew up in church and was very familiar with Jesus. I knew all about him and his teachings. Even so, I found myself trying to find satisfaction in everything but him.

Though my reverence for God was always there, my sacrifice and obedience were not. It wasn't until I had an encounter with God that I realized his presence is what I desired all along.

In that moment, everything changed for me. I finally understood the depth of his love for us, and how nothing else can compare to it.

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18  

This song is all about giving God the glory and praise he deserves. He gets all the glory, honor, and adoration. And the hook is from a song we sing in the church of Pentecost often, so it’s really one of our favorites!
